FREEDOM: Himanshi Dhiman’s Inspiring Journey into the World of Riding

From learning through YouTube videos to inspiring young girls across the country, Himanshi’s journey proves that passion and self-belief can break every stereotype.

At just 24 years old, Himanshi Dhiman from Zirakpur, Punjab is balancing multiple passions at once. While pursuing her Master’s degree in Physical Education and building her career as a professional karate athlete, she has also carved her own identity in the riding community.

But her journey into motorcycling wasn’t planned. It started with inspiration at home, curiosity, and the courage to believe that she could do something many people around her never expected a woman to do.

Today, riding has become much more than a hobby for her-it has become a symbol of freedom, confidence, and self-expression.

Inspired by the Woman Who Started It All

For Himanshi, the first inspiration came from her mother.

Growing up, she watched her mother ride a motorcycle confidently at a time when very few women around her did. In fact, her mother was the only woman in the area who rode a motorcycle regularly.

Seeing that as a child left a strong impact on her.

It made her believe that if her mother could do it fearlessly, she could too.

Her actual riding journey began during her college years. She first learned the basics of handling a motorcycle with the help of her friends. Once she gained confidence, she took things further by learning on her own.

From YouTube tutorials to conversations with experienced riders, she absorbed knowledge from every possible source. With constant practice and determination, she slowly improved her skills and grew more confident on the road.

Building a Community Through Riding

What started as a fun hobby soon became something much bigger.

Himanshi created an Instagram page simply for enjoyment, without expecting much from it. But as her page started growing, she began connecting with riders from different places who shared the same passion for motorcycles.

The riding community introduced her to supportive and inspiring people, making her journey even more meaningful. Through social media and riding, she found a space where passion connected people beyond backgrounds or differences.

Breaking Stereotypes as a Solo Woman Rider

Despite her growing confidence, the journey was not without challenges.

One of the biggest obstacles Himanshi faced was riding solo as a woman. She often experienced judgment, doubts, and unsolicited opinions from people who questioned her abilities simply because she was a girl riding a motorcycle.

But instead of letting negativity discourage her, she used it as fuel to push herself harder.

She focused on becoming better, safer, and stronger with every ride. Proper riding gear, preparation, and awareness became essential parts of her riding lifestyle.

At the same time, the support of her close friends played a huge role in helping her stay motivated and continue her journey confidently.

A Proud Moment Beyond Awards

For many riders, achievements are measured through trophies or milestones. But for Himanshi, the most meaningful moments are much more personal.

Her proudest experiences happen when young girls approach her and say they feel inspired after seeing her ride.

Knowing that her journey encourages other girls to believe in themselves gives her a deep sense of fulfillment. For her, inspiring even one person to confidently chase their passion feels like the biggest achievement she could ever ask for.

The Experience That Changed Her

One of the defining moments in her riding journey came through participating in the TVS Women’s OMC.

The event became a turning point in her growth as a rider. Surrounded by national-level riders and professional instructors, she stepped out of her comfort zone and learned more than she ever expected.

The constant guidance, feedback, and encouragement pushed her to improve not only her riding skills but also her confidence as an individual.

The event also introduced her to incredible people who later became close friends. She especially credits her friend Mitanshu Raj for encouraging her to participate and supporting her throughout the experience.

For Himanshi, the event was more than just a riding competition-it was an experience that strengthened her belief in herself.

What Riding Truly Means to Her

When asked to describe riding in one word, her answer is simple yet powerful:

“FREEDOM.”

For her, riding represents independence, confidence, and the ability to be unapologetically herself. It is the feeling of escaping limitations and embracing life on her own terms.

A Message to Everyone Chasing Their Passion

Himanshi’s journey is a reminder that passion grows when you continue believing in yourself despite fear, judgment, or obstacles.

Her story is not only about motorcycles it’s about courage, growth, and inspiring others simply by doing what you love.

And her message to everyone is clear:

“Never give up on the things that truly make you happy. Follow your passion, believe in yourself, and enjoy every moment of the journey.”
